Allegany County is working with Tetra Tech, Inc. (Tetra Tech) to update the Allegany County Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP was last updated in 2010, and the time has come to review and update the plan with current hazard history, vulnerabilities, capabilities, and targeted mitigation projects.
We are requesting participation in the HMP update process from our towns, villages, and regional stakeholders and invite you to send a representative from your organization to serve on the HMP Planning Partnership. Members of the public and local residents are also encouraged to attend public meetings and to contribute information to the plan.
The planning process will begin by conducting two identical meetings, located at the Belmont American Legion (29 Schuyler Street [RT19], Belmont, NY). The meeting dates are:
- Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at 9 a.m.
During these meetings, we will review the project timeline and planning process, discuss participation requirements, and review next steps for the plan. Representatives do not need to attend both meeting sessions, as each meeting will review the same material.
